For Physicians
Cytochrome P450 Genotyping
SCMM is offering physicians and their patients this FDA-approved microarray-based test to examine patient genotypes.
Results of this testing help determine how an individual will metabolize prescription drug options before they are prescribed. Available now, this SCMM test can reduce or eliminate the possibility of potentially dangerous and costly adverse drug reactions and increase treatment efficiency by identifying favorable drugs options in advance.
SCMM is the only regional source for the CYP450 test, a cost-effective process that need only be conducted once to provide lifetime patient reference data for diagnosis and treatment . Physicians may contact the SCMM directly to obtain more information and brochures describing the test. Patients are strongly encouraged to work with their physicians on the utility of this test in their healthcare management.
Specimen Requirements: 3-5 mL of blood collected in an EDTA (lavender cap) tube. Specimen must reach SCMM within three days of collection. Do not freeze. Further details can be found below under Cytochrome P450 Genotyping Catalog Sheet.
